Latest experience with Bare Bones. Took my truck to them. They lied to me twice and cost me money I did not have. I made them aware of what financial constraints I faced and explained the situation to them thoroughly. I was having trouble starting my truck. I took it two different AutoZone location to confirm it was a bad alternator. Bare Bones stated was starter not the alternator . I asked "Are you sure it is not the alternator?" Answer: "No, not alternator, it is your starter." I asked "So you have tested the alternator." Bare Bones said "Yes". Lie number one. I also asked "How do you explain battery losing charge in connection with alternator." Answer "Your starter is hooked directly to your battery." So I agreed to have them replace the starter. Replaced starter only to be told alternator was bad. "Why was I told starter?" Answer: "Starter was bad but could not test alternator until starter was fixed" Lie number two. What was supposed to cost me around $500 ended up costing me over $900. They know I sm on a fixed income, I explained this to them upfront and how much I could afford. I had to borrow the rest of the money and it took me almost a year to repay. They used to be an honest shop but not any more. My recommendation is FIND ANOTHER SHOP OR RUN THE RISK OF BEING LIED TO AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
